Maria Victoria Lopez: Metrobank’s vice president of the Corporate Service Unit

The country was shookt after hearing the news that an executive from the second largest bank in the country got arrested after being involved with an alleged million-peso fraud case.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested Maria Victoria Lopez, Makati branch’s vice president for corporate services who is said to be the mastermind of the P900-million internal fraud.

The 54-year-old bank executive is now detained at the NBI Manila headquarters. She is accused of funneling loans using fake account under the name of legit corporate client, Universal Robina Corporation. Aside from that, Lopez has charges on qualified theft, falsification of documents, and violation of the General Banking Law.

Local reports say that the funds taken by Lopez allegedly went straight to other accounts and financial institution that is owned or named to Lopez herself.

But who is this Maria Victoria Lopez and what is her lifestyle beyond her job at Metrobank?

Facebook page, TOP CARS Manila exposed that Lopez has been living the high-society life being associated to the premier bank for almost 30 years. Having a salary of P250,000 a month, the culprit lives in an executive village in Quezon City. Reports say that she owns 9 cars with Range Rover being the cheapest among her rides.

It was not mentioned how many child Lopez has, however, reports say that some of them are studying in the United States.

Also, Lopez owns the glamorous Manage Premier Salon which has 5 branches in posh communities and shopping malls around Metro Manila.
