Undefeated Floyd Mayweather will finally fight UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor in a much-discussed boxing match on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas, Yahoo Sports confirmed on Wednesday.
Both camp confirmed the fight on social media on Wednesday.
UFC president Dana White said the fight will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will be contested at 154 pounds. It will be a standard match with 12-round of boxing using 10-ounce gloves.
On Wednesday, the Nevada Athletic Commission approved the request from Mayweather Promotions to put on a boxing card on Aug. 26 at the MGM Grand. But it’s final, it will be at the T-Mobile Arena.
The much-talked about match came together organically, as McGregor bragged about his desire to fight Mayweather and then they began going back-and-forth on social media.
